California Native Plants have evolved over thousands of years to our Northern California seasonal cycles of long hot summers and cold wet winters. They are perfectly adapted to our weather and soils.
After most natives are established they require little or no water and are very drought tolerant. There are also beautiful shade and water loving natives for moist or irrigated areas.
California plants generally require no pesticides and we do not recommend fertilizers. We use organic products whenever possible at the nursery. Natives are often easy to grow and require little maintenance or pruning.
Native wildlife gardens are havens of biodiversity. California Native Plants produce flowers and seeds to attract birds, butterflies, bees and other wildlife historically dependent on them for food and habitat.
Indigenous plants are also best suited to manufacturing oxygen for our planet and filtering impurities from water.
